LASER TEETH WHITENING / BLEACHING / DENTAL VENEERS
Nice White Teeth Are Something Almost Everyone Wants, and Dr. Joseph Columbus, in Hudson NH, Can Give You a Brighter, Whiter Smile In a Variety of Ways.
Your teeth are not the same as anyone else’s teeth. Nor are your eating and drinking habits, whether or not you smoke, or your dental hygiene. If you want nice white teeth, we provide this caution…
Teeth whitening results may vary.
The dental professionals at Columbus Dental Care use a variety of teeth whitening techniques, including Zoom!® laser whitening and bleaching trays, to get your teeth as whiter. These methods often work very well if your teeth are stained by things such as coffee, tea, wines and other drinks and richly-colored foods.
Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
Zoom! is an in-office laser process that gets your teeth as white as they can be in just over an hour. Though the procedure is quick, easy and safe, some patients experience tooth sensitivity for a period of time after treatment.
Bleaching Trays
Our in-home teeth whitening bleaching kits are easy to use, and best results are achieved in 4 to 6 weeks. Some patients prefer custom-fit trays, which are made by first taking impressions of your teeth. Custom bleaching trays tend to confine the bleaching agent a little better, holding it more securely to the teeth surfaces. The advantage of this is a slightly shorter time needed to get similar results.
If your teeth are off-white due to your genetics, though, especially if they are darker yellow or gray than you wish they were, then the usual whitening techniques may not provide the results you are hoping for. In those cases, Dr. Joe Columbus will usually recommend porcelain veneers or dental bonding.
Whitening Teeth with Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is usually an option when you only have one or two off-color teeth. This situation occurs most often with your bottom teeth in front, and with your canines. In both cases, evolution is thought to play a part: your upper teeth are whiter and brighter for display reasons. Your canines – the ripping and shredding teeth – are thicker and stronger than your other front teeth, and the very thick enamel gives them a deeper color.

Simple dental bonding is the application of composite resin, colored to match adjoining teeth, bonded and cured right in the dentist’s chair under a visible blue light. The bonded resin is then polished to match your other teeth.
Porcelain Veneers for a Brighter Smile
Porcelain veneers are the ultimate choice when you want a white smile than cannot be achieved any other way, and Dr. Joe is especially skilled at applying the latest generation of ultra-thin veneers to teeth that don’t need a huge amount of brightening, and slightly thicker and less-translucent veneers to teeth that are darker, which requires a veneer with more robust hiding qualities.
